Shortly before 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on La. 377 about 2 ½ miles north of La. 112 in Allen Parish. The crash claimed the life of 36-year-old Jared Bartley Doyle of Pitkin.

Trooper Derek Senegal said a 2007 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Doyle, was traveling north on La. 377 when for unknown reasons, the Dodge traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Doyle, who was not restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Senegal said.

A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troop D has investigated 1 fatal crash resulting in 1 death in 2024.
