Claudene Phillips Guy

Claudene Phillips Guy, age 83, of Dandridge, formerly of Lake Charles, La., went to be home with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024. Claudene was a loving and devoted wife to Doug for 62 years.

She treasured her Lord first and foremost and her family a close second. She was a cherished mother to Deidre (David) Messer, Danette (Dennis) Morgan, and Darin (Amy) Guy; adoring grandmother and Mimi to Kelly Diana (Keith) Marlin, Michael (Michelle) Guy, Sebastian Guy, Christian Morgan, Elizabeth Morrow, Hannah Morrow, and her beloved cat, Gracie. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first great-grandchild, Dexter Marlin, due April 23, 2024.

She is survived by siblings, Buddy (Bridget) Phillips, and Mary Ann (Clarence) Wagnon.

Claudene was born in Saline, La. and moved to Lake Charles when she was 16 years old. She married Doug on Nov. 10, 1961. Claudene worked as a records secretary at First Baptist Church in Lake Charles for 21 years. She also served her church on the Bereavement Committee, GA’s, Acteens, the wedding committee and as the nursery coordinator.

Well done, good and faithful servant, as you have received your heavenly reward.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 at 3 p.m. at the Farrar Funeral Home Dandridge chapel with Rev. Justin Terrell officiating. The family received friends Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to services at Farrar Funeral Home. Graveside interment was held Monday, Feb. 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Hamblen Memorial Gardens, Morristown, Tenn.
