Joseph Hall Toler

Joseph Hall Toler Jr., 69, of DeRidder, La., passed away peacefully of natural causes on 21 Jan. 2024. Born on 20 April 1954 in Atlantic City, N.J., he honorably served and retired from the US Army as a First Sergeant and later from the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office as Chief Deputy; additionally, throughout both careers, he was active as a minister in the New Apostolic Church before retirement. Joe Toler was the second child of Fred and June Toler. He is survived by his siblings, Diane Duran, Jeff, and Daniel Toler, as well as, his wife, Gudrun, and sons, Joe and Ben Toler. Additionally, he leaves behind eight grandchildren. He is joined by his daughter, Jennifer Ober, on Feb. 1, 2024, after her long battle with cancer. Visitation will be Monday, 11 March 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Labby’s funeral home. The family will honor Joe’s desire for a private funeral to celebrate his life.
