Herman “Tuck” Godfrey Metoyer

Herman Godfrey “Tuck” Metoyer, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 29, 2024.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1940, to Louis Edward Metoyer II and Ophelia Porche Metoyer in Lake Charles, La.
Those left to continue his beautiful legacy of kindness and love are his beloved wife of 55 years, Annie Victorian Metoyer, and his three daughters, Deme Wesley (Brian), Kristi Anderson (Tim) and Shaunda Metoyer; his five grandchildren, Alexis, Brian, Isabella, Harper, and Sam, and one great-grandchild, Rui. He was preceded in death, by his parents Ophelia and Louis; his sisters, Dorothy Metoyer Honore and Ursula Janey Tate, and his brothers, William Metoyer, John Metoyer, and Louis Edward Metoyer III.
Herman’s home-sending will begin Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, with the visitation at Johson’s Funeral Home (4321 Lake Street) from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. The funeral will then take place at St. Margaret Catholic Church at 12 p.m. followed by the burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lake Charles.
The family would like to thank those that cared for our dad in such a beautiful way. You all have a warm and permanent place in our hearts, Jackie Rush, Samantha Dugar, Deacon Elray Bushnell, Dr. Melissa Rasberry, and all of the wonderful staff at Harbor Hospice. We are grateful for the intimate care and love you shared with our dad. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
