BREAKING: All Calcasieu, Allen, Jeff Davis public schools closed due to road conditions

Due to the current road conditions and the ongoing Flash Flood Warning in effect, all Calcasieu, Allen and Jeff Davis public schools and facilities are closed today.
“We apologize for the late notice, but we do not feel it is in the best interest of our families to hold school today,” said spokesman Holly Holland. “We will notify families later today as to the status of school tomorrow.”
Bishop Noland Episcopal School is also closed.
Due to the potential of flash flooding and the no travel advisory issued by the National Weather Service, McNeese State University will shift to online instruction until 11 a.m. today.
“We plan to reopen campus when the rain and street flooding subside and will issue another announcement later this morning,” the university said.
