Kevin Charles Faulk, 57, of Grand Lake passed away at 3:22 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at his residence. He was born on Jan. 25, 1966 in Lake Charles, La. to Morgan “Black” and Melba Faulk.
Kevin grew up playing sports, continuing into high school where he was on the Grand Lake basketball team and track team where he threw the shotput and discuss. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Kevin previously worked for Fire Safety, Braun Welding supply and as a security guard. For the last 25 years Kevin was employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a supervisor. Kevin was a former member of the Grand Lake/Sweetlake volunteer fire department and Cameron Parish Civil Defense. He loved animals and children, even though he had no children of his own, he had a special place in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews. Kevin loved to take those slow rides to the corner store with our father (Black) to get a couple of cold ones. Most people in Grand Lake know exactly what I’m talking about because they would get stuck behind them.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Janice Landry (Chris), Mondell Garcia (Raul), Ricky Faulk, Jared Faulk (Beth), Richard Faulk, and Terry Faulk (Monica); brother-in-law, Joey Babineaux Sr; his Godchild, Cheri Babineaux Compton, and nine nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and nephews, one great-great-niece and two great-great-nephews, as well as, one on the way. And his little spoiled rotten pug, “Sarge.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Nelson and Lona Theriot Faulk, and maternal grandparents Nolton and Gladys Vige Richard and one sister, Charlene Babineaux.
A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 5 p.m.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Cameron Parish EMS, Medics, Chris Stanley and John Doyle and Cameron Parish Sheriff Deputies, Joe Smith, Josh Francis, Sal Naranjo and Aaron Istre for the care given to Kevin and their support to the family members.
