An active weather pattern is setting up this week in Southwest Louisiana with rain very likely as periodic disturbances pass over the region.
The first of these disturbances is expected to arrive late Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office.
“While there is a good signal for multiple rounds of rain, which could be heavy at times, there is still enough uncertainty to limit forecast confidence regarding the overall magnitude of flooding and associated impacts,” the agency said.
Widespread rainfall amounts in excess of 4 inches are favorable across the region through Friday.
Temperatures will also trend above normal throughout the work week.
Southeast winds around 20 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph are expected from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
