A Lake Charles woman charged with domestic abuse battery is accused of “excessively” battering her 2-year-old daughter — and then her mother when confronted about the abuse.

Police Lt. Jeffrey Keenum said officers assigned to the 1700 block of O’Brien Street on Thursday responded to a disturbance call just after 7 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers spoke with an adult victim and learned her daughter and suspect – Chyna Denae Freeman, 23 — excessively battered her daughter, a 2-year old victim,” Keenum said. “The 2-year old victim is the daughter of the suspect and granddaughter of the adult victim.”

Keenum said after the adult victim viewed home surveillance of the offense, she left work to confront Freeman.

“This confrontation led to the suspect committing a battery upon the adult victim,” Keenum said.

Freeman is charged with domestic abuse battery and child endangerment, with no bond being set by Judge Mike Canaday. Freeman is also charged with cruelty to juveniles, with a bond of $25,000 being set by Canaday.

Freeman was arrested and later booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center

Cpl. Thadius Schecher is the arresting officer.
