Wava Mae Pousson, age 92, of Westlake, La. passed away on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1931 in Evangeline, La. to parents Adros Daigle and Eula Guidry Daigle.

Wava made an impact on everyone she met with her positivity and strong spirit.

She enjoyed managing Pousson’s, the local family owned washateria and barber and beauty shop.

Wava loved to read, and sew, but most of all her faith, and her family. Despite her large family she always made time for everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Anthony Pousson; her daughters, Debra Ann Norris, and Sheila Mae Alleman, and her siblings, Lloyd Daigle, Edjus Daigle, Hayes Daigle, Floyd Daigle, and Dora Bertrand.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children; Anthony Pousson, Jr., Janice Lee Pousson Goodloe, Antoinette Pousson Little, Donna Marie Pousson, as well as her sister-in-law Joann Daigle, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The visitation will resume Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to the staff of Landmark South Nursing Home and Life Source Hospice Service of Baton Rouge for their compassionate loving care.
