Gordon Propst

Gordon Propst, 77, of Lake Charles died Thursday, Jan. 4. Gordon was a native of Jennings but lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a 1964 graduate of Lake Charles High School and received his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University.
After graduation from McNeese, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Propst received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Louisiana State University and practiced law in Lake Charles for a short period of time. He was administrator at Robinswood School from 1972 to 2020. He was the past president of the Lake Charles Jaycees, a member of Rotary International. He was also an active participant in the Southwest Louisiana Trade Expo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Norma Gordon Propst and his wife, Angela Robicheaux Propst.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Propst (Vicky); two nieces; six grand-nieces; one grandnephew; three great-grand-nieces, and a Godchild, Mariana Espinoza.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 and led by Deacon Anthony Pousson in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
