Sharon Lynette Allured

 Sharon Allured, 75, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, in the comfort of her home.

Sharon was fiercely loyal to her family, with a special place in her heart for her granddaughter, Taryn. She was passionate about her church and faith. She loved singing, quilting, beekeeping, woodworking, driving her red Mini Cooper S, doing crossword puzzles and caring for all God’s creatures. She was especially fond of being retired.

Sharon graduated from LaGrange High School in 1966 and obtained her degree in Music Education from McNeese State University in 1972. She was blessed with a remarkably rich soprano voice. She was a paralegal for over 40 years in the Lake Charles area. She was once described as, “The best attorney that was not an attorney.”

Sharon was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and a dedicated choir member. She sang with Masterworks Chorale and was treasurer of Louisiana Choral Foundation.

Sharon served as soloist and music director of Temple Sinai for over 30 years.

Cherishing her memory are her daughters, Katie Fruge and husband, Jesse, of Texas, and Carrie Allured of Lake Charles, La.; one grandchild, Taryn Allured of Lake Charles; one brother, Dr. Charles Scott “Scotty” Salmons of Lake Charles, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, friends and her beloved dog, Millie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alberta Salmons; her sister, Charlotte Wettemann; the father of her children, Lee Edward Allured, and numerous dogs/cats.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard. The visitation will be Thursday, from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Cremation is entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Scotty Salmons, Matt Salmons, Bruce Allured, Nathaniel Allured, Jesse Fruge and Brad Wallace

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church or Temple Sinai.
