The family moved to Orange, Texas when she was about five years old. When Ruth started school, she and her sister only spoke French. Ruth loved to bake and sew. She made everything from her girls dresses for school, doll clothes, quilts which she donated for raffle each year for the Cajun Festival. She even made suits for her sons, Miami Vice style, in the 1980s. She made quilts for all of her grandchildren, and belonged to the quilting circle, which named themselves, “Country Cousins”.

She loved to socialize and visit with people. She loved her family and went to all the reunions she could possibly make. She was friendly to everyone. She enjoyed visiting friends and meeting new people at the Recreation Center, where she would walk her mile every day.

Ruth loved Jesus and her faith, and taught all of her children to do the same. She was a Catholic Daughter and was a member of the Altar Society and Food of Comfort. She was always evangelizing, everywhere she went. She always said, “God’s Will Be Done”.
