Mary Ollie Smith

Mary Ollie Smith, 91, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024 in a local care center surrounded by her family.
She was a native of Ville Platte and had been a longtime resident of Sulphur. Ollie was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, the Good Sam Club, the 12th Night Revelers, and had served on the Board of Mardi Gras Southwest in Lake Charles. She retired after over 30 years of service with West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital and then volunteered there as a Pink Lady for several years after her retirement. She was a world traveler and also enjoyed RV camping, going on cruises, and playing the ukulele.
Survivors include her children, Wendell Smith and wife, Kim of Lake Charles, Shirlyn Faye Smith of Sulphur, and Jackie Hebert and husband, Mike of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Chad and Jamie Bonneau, Megan McCarley, Ryan Hebert, Matthew Hebert, Christian Chavez, and Michael Chavez; and great-grandchildren, Dru and Cruz Bonneau, Kade, Kelli, Katelynn, Bentley, Emma, and Elaina Hebert, Tristan and Keaton Fuselier; and Declan Montgomery. She is preceded in death by her spouses, Jimmy Smith and Raymond Guillory; her son, Gary Smith; and a granddaughter, Cortney Smith Montgomery.
A private service will be held by her family. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
