Annemarie Pfarr James

Annemarie Pfarr James, 94, of Merryville, La., passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023.
Annemarie grew up in Germany. She met and married the love of her life, SFC(Ret.) Troy James. They shared 66 wonderful years together. Annemarie spent 22 of those years as a dedicated US Army wife. She lived during WWII and two of her brothers served in the Battle of the Bulge.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sigrid James of Merryville, La.; grandchildren, John Paul James, Crystal Lee Simmons(Michael), Annamaria Farley(Chris); eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy James; parents, Wilhelm and Maria Pfarr; nine brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. Brother John Elliott will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, La.
