Sherry Renee Smith

Sherry Renee Smith, 51, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on Dec. 12, 2023, after a brief illness.
Ms. Smith was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. Her grandchildren were her world and she spent as much time with them as possible. Sherry treasured her daily phone conversations with her son Chris, texting her daughter, Laci, and talking with Ernest. She loved eating out and watching crime dramas and true crime shows.
Sherry is preceded in death by her mother, Deanna Duhon Smith; sister, Lisa Smith, and nephew, Derrell Smith Jr.
Ms. Smith leaves to cherish her memory her father, Derrell Wendell Smith; children, Laci Smith and companion, Jordan Ballou, Ernest Smith, and Christopher Smith; brother, Derrell Smith and wife, Kim; sister, Ashley Smith and husband, Miguel Mesa; grandchildren, Bailee Smith, Bradey Smith, Jordan Smith, and Jay Lee Smith; nieces and nephews that include, Brandon Smith Sr., Kayla Smith, Michael Smith, Brandon Smith Jr., and Zachary Smith, and Sherry’s longtime companion, Nicholas Bellard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, in the Sanctuary of First Church of the Nazarene located at 3940 Holly Hill Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70605 from 10 a.m. until time of service. A celebration of Sherry’s Life will follow at 2 p.m. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the service.
