Rebecca Rose Myers Vorick, 83, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023 in her residence.

Mrs. Vorick was born on July 26, 1940 in Lake Charles where she lived all of her life and was a graduate of LaGrange High School.  She was a woman of strong faith and was very involved and active in the Assembly of God Church.  Mrs. Vorick had a breathtaking voice that she was able to use to share Christian songs with others on the radio and on television.  She was also an accomplished recording artist. Mrs. Vorick was an incredible homemaker with a witty personality.

She liked to play crossword puzzles and word games in her free time.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Timothy Vorick (Karen) of Kingwood, Texas, Donna Vorick of Lake Charles, and Wendi Britt (Rodney) of Huntsville, Texas; brother, Clem Myers (Sue) of Henderson, Ky.; grandchildren, Rebecca Rose Vorick of Silver Lake, Calif., Timothy Vorick II of Kingwood, Texas, Thomas Joseph Vorick of Kingwood, Texas, Taylor Vorick of Lake Charles, Chance Breaux of Lake Charles, Colby Britt (Shelby) of Huntsville, Texas, and Blake Britt (Kara) of Arlington, Texas, and great-grandchildren, Avery and Keaton Britt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Frank Vorick; parents, Zolene and Clarence “Pat” Myers, and siblings, Bobby Myers, Yvonne Rose, and Janelle Rodgers.

A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12 p.m. until the start of the service.
