A cold front has pushed through the region and the severe weather threat has ended.
However, strong, gusty winds in the wake of the front will continue through the morning posing a hazard to high profile vehicles and marine traffic, said Donald Jones, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office.
“Strong northerly winds will push water out of area lakes and bays creating low-water conditions,” he said.
Both a wind advisory and a gale warning are in effect until noon today.
“Winds will gradually diminish through the afternoon becoming light by tonight,” Jones said.
