Margaret Agnes Catalon, age 72, of Denham Springs, La. passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023.

Margaret was born in Rayne, La. to Elmer and Eucharist Smith.

Margaret was a graduate of Rayne High School and LSUE. She was the first in her family to obtain a college degree. Margaret was a nurse for over 40 years having works at Rayne Branch Hospital and Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette. One of her highest honors was being a designated as a LOPA nurse. The critical care nurse’s role is to reinforce explanations and provide psychological and emotional support throughout the organ recovery process. It is important for the nurse to convey reassurance to the family that their decision will be supported no matter what they decide. She later married Patrick Aucoin, John Catalon and had a several years long partnership with Willard Graham.

Survived by; half brother, Joseph Adam Chassion; half sister, Mary Trahan; husband, Clarence James Thibodeaux.

Children from their marriage; Cheryl Jane Thibodeaux Duhon, Mark Anthony Thibodeaux, Priscilla Mae Thibodeaux Broussard and Craig Wilson Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Bethany Ann Doucet, Gillian Elise Duhon, Cyprien Mitchell Duhon, Phailin Amie Thibodeaux, Vivienne Adele Duhon, Evelyn Omah Duhon, Bo Lily Thibodeaux and Cameron James Dial.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, with a rosary at 12 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. A burial will follow at Duhon Cemetery, Lake Charles, La.
