Glitter and Garland is back for another year of holiday shopping and fun in downtown Lake Arthur.
The free, open-air market will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in the Lake Arthur Park at the end of Arthur Avenue. Businesses and restaurants on Main Street will also be open during the event.
Admission and parking are free.
“This is a chance for holiday shoppers to get a jump start on checking off their Christmas list and finding just the right gift for everyone on their list,” organizer Joanna Lejeune said.
It is also a great way to help support local vendors and businesses, she said.
More than 40 artisans, crafters, bakers and other vendors will be set up throughout the park selling and diplaying unique gifts and craft items during the shopping extravaganza. Items will include home decor, furniture, holiday decorations, jewelry, baked and canned goods, t-shirts, children’s clothing, soaps, candles and more.
Food vendors will be selling barbecue, tamales, coffee and more.
In addition to the shopping and food, the crowd will be able to enjoy live music from Karmic Souls, 10 a.m.-noon.
Children can also enjoy a train ride in the park or play in the park while the adults shop.
Lejeune encourages everyone to “come out, have a good time and get some shopping done early, while enjoying some good food and music under the trees in the park.”
People are welcome to bring lawn chairs and sit in the park to listen to the music and enjoy the food.
