A Lake Charles attorney has been arrested in Allen Parish, accused of introducing contraband and drugs into a penal institution.

Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert said Jonathan Brown has been taken into custody following an investigation by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, Allen Correctional Center officers and sheriff’s investigators.

Hebert said during an attorney/client interview, Brown allegedly provided an inmate with weapons and illegal narcotics.

“The package that was provided by Brown to the inmate contained folding knives, marijuana, oxycodone, synthetic paper and suboxone,” Hebert said. “As a result of these actions, Brown has been apprehended and is currently held at the Allen Parish Jail, awaiting a bond hearing.”
