Ten team spots remain open for Golf for Kids’ Sake fundraiser

There are ten team spots open for the ninth annual Golf For Kids’ Sake fundraiser on Friday, November 3 at the Lake Charles Country Club, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana.

Erin Davison, chief executive officer, BBBS-SWLA, said that GFKS has been “an amazing annual end-of-year event” for eight years, and is the last major fundraiser of 2023.

“We aim to have a great time thanking our sponsors for their involvement through 2023 and inviting the public to join us for one last fundraiser before we move into next year!”

GFKS has been a “testament to the power of community, compassion and unwavering dedication” over the yearsj  said Jillian Cormier, area manager – impact and outcomes, south region.

“It’s a collective commitment by our community to foster the potential for a brighter future for our area’s youth.”

The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with one flight of golfers. GFKS welcomes golfers of all skill levels who will participate in a four-man scramble. Each registered golfer will get one mulligan and one “red blast” during the tournament.

Breakfast will be served before the games begin at 7:30 a.m. Vendors will offer food and beverages along the course.

Cash prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place golfers, with and without handicap.

Both first place teams will recieve $500, second place teams $300, and third place teams $100.

The entry fee for teams is $500. Golfers should register by Tuesday, October 31, and can reserve their teams at www.bbbsswla.org/golf.

 

BBBS- SWLA – operating since 1979 – is the largest donor and volunteer supported one to one mentoring network in SWLA, providing extra support, resources and mentoring to youth ages six to 18 in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis and Vernon parishes.
