Troyce Franklin Thompson, 70 years of age, of Westlake, La., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 at Stonebridge Place in Sulphur, La.  Troyce was born July 2, 1953 in Warren, Ark. to Ted Franklin Thompson and Orlean Wooldridge Thompson.  He lived in Arkansas until attending Louisiana Tech, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.  After receiving his degree, Troyce moved to Sulphur, and aside from a company transfer to Oklahoma for five years, he remained a resident of Southwest Louisiana until his passing.

Troyce was a General Manager for Citgo before he retired in 2012.  He was a dedicated employee for Citgo, where he will be remembered for his knowledge, his intelligence, and his use of green felt tip pens.  When he was not working, he enjoyed spending quality time with his grandkids, watching television and drinking Dr. Pepper.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and studying his Bible.  Troyce was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Dawn Stump Thompson; his son, Zachary Troyce Thompson and his wife Ashley; grandsons, Cohen Thompson and Cameron Thompson; and his sisters, Patricia Thompson Leach and her husband Doug, and Theresa Thompson Whiteside and her husband Paul.

His visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023 at the Hixon Funeral Home in Westlake.  Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to Stonebridge Place Assisted Living in Sulphur.
