Rita Harvey, 87, died surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 27, 2023, in a local care facility.

Rita was born on June 22, 1936, in Rayne, La. She enjoyed cooking Cajun food and spent a lifetime managing restaurants where you could always find her cooking Gourmet Cajun Cuisine. Rita loved people and never met a stranger, and her loving soul could be felt in all she did. She dearly loved her Cajun Music and could dance to the sounds of Ira Lejeune. One of her greatest past times was crocheting and visiting and speaking Cajun French.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Elizabeth Ann Duhon, Carl Lee Credeur, Tina Marie Landreneau, and Lisa Faye Bullington; 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon Harvey; son-in-law, Adam Kershaw; grandson, Ricky James Doyle; and daughter, Brenda Sue Lindsey.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
