UPDATE: Second victims in Carlyss shooting dies, charges upgraded

Detectives upgraded charges against Jonathan Joseph Waite to two counts of 2nd degree murder. Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $650,000.
Cole A. Sandifer, 39, Sulphur was located deceased inside the home following the Monday shooting in Sweet Gum Mobile Home Park in Carlyss, off Hwy. 1256 south of the I-10 overpass.
One CPSO deputy said the call came in reporting shots fired at about 3:35 p.m. from a resident of the park.
When deputies arrived after the call, they located the two victims inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.
Waite fled the scene on foot, and was apprehended at 4:50 p.m.about a block from the incident on Ridgecrest.
On Monday Sheriff Tony Mancuso said it might be likely that the incident was “domestic in nature.”
