SULPHUR — The Sulphur Tors got a much-needed boost to their playoff hopes Tuesday after earning a four-set win (25-16, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20) over Division I, District 3 rival Lafayette in their final home game of the season.

“We definitely needed this win. I believe they (Lafayette) were four spots ahead of us. Winning this game is definitely going to help us in the power rankings.”

Sulphur (14-15, 3-3) started the day ranked 33rd in the Division I power rankings, and likely needs to pick up some wins this weekend at the Episcopal of Acadiana Spooktacular tournament.
