U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $6 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency grants for Louisiana disaster aid.
“Hurricane Laura dealt Southwest Louisiana a tough blow, but its people are as strong as ever. I’m glad to see this $6.1 million help Cameron Parish prepare for future storms by elevating at-risk structures,” Kennedy said.
The FEMA aid will fund $6,078,485 to Cameron Parish for the elevation of 25 flood-prone residential structures and resulting management costs.
