Stars and Stripes in the Park Classic Car Show is Saturday

The weather will be perfect for the 13th annual City of Sulphur Stars and Stripes in the Park Classic Car Show at Heritage Square, 211 Ruth St., Sulphur (The Grove). This free event is Saturday, Oct. 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and it’s not too late for car enthusiasts to show off their prize possessions and vye for awards.
Last year, 225 cars were on display and this year’s show promises to be even better.
“New this year is a model car display from Lake Charles Model Car Club,” said Tommy Little, classic car owner, enthusiast and event organizer.
See classic cars, trucks, hot rods, motorcycles, lowriders and 4x4s. No pets, bikes or skateboards. Enjoy food, music and activities for the little ones.
Free registration for vehicle owners begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until 11 a.m.
“If you have a certain parking spot in mind, please arrive as early as possible,” Little suggested.
Opening ceremony is at 9 a.m. Winners of the Top 75, Armed Forces Top 5, Brimstone’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice, Public Work’s Choice and First Reponder’s Choice will be awarded beginning at 2 p.m.
No skateboards, bikes or pets. This event is a presentation made possible by Sulphur Parks and Recreation, Henning Cultural Center, Brimstone Historical Society, Visit Lake Charles and the City of Sulphur.
