A 71-year-old Welsh man was arrested Tuesday for firing a shot at several juveniles who were toilet papering a residence as part of a homecoming week prank, authorities said.

Roger Dale Broderick, of South Frontage Road, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Broderick is accused of firing a handgun after catching the juveniles in the act of toilet papering a residence, according to Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.

Deputies had been called to the area in reference to shots being fired on South Frontage Road around midnight, he said.
