ELECTION RESULTS: Abraham, Carter re-elected to Legislature

Incumbents Mark Abraham and Wilford Carter have retained their seats in the Louisiana Legislature.
Calcasieu voters elected Abraham, a Republican, by 75 percent, or 11,556, for state senate in the 25th district. His opponent, Josh Lewis, a Democrat, received 25 percent of votes, or 3,771.
Carter, a Democrat, received 4,599 votes, for 62 percent, for the state house seat in the 34th district. Kevin Guidry revived 30 percent of the vote and Franklin Lewis received eight percent.
Bobbie Holmes has been elected judge in the 14th Judicial District Court for Division F. Holmes, a Democrat, received 5,389, or 55 percent. His opponent, Sa’Trica Williams Bensaadat received 45 percent.
In the race for the 14th Judicial District Court Division C seat in family court, Bill Cutrera and Brad Guillory will be entering into a runoff election after neither candidate secured at least 50 percent of the votes. Cutrera received 39 percent of the vote and Guillory received 32 percent. A third candidate, Mark Judson, received 28 percent.
