Margaret Susan “Sue” Campbell died at her home in Lake Charles on Oct. 4, at the age of 74. She was the daughter of Dorothy Marie Consley and Jeter Louis Campbell Jr., both of whom predeceased her. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Charles. An active, talented, and caring person, she had a passion for dogs that began when she received a cocker spaniel to ease pain of the black eye she got as a little girl from a baseball. She attended Lake Charles High School and marched with the Kilties. She was an excellent artist and rendered numerous watercolor and oil paintings of beloved pets for people in the area. She did the art that became the bronze McNeese Cowboy statue. She donated the original art for the bronze Cowboy to Kappa Sigma Fraternity. She worked as a draftsman for an architect and prepared the plans for numerous structures. Upon retirement, she assisted family members and friends as they transitioned to their new lives. Susan is survived by her older brother, J. Louis Campbell III, of Pa.; “to you, Sue, we say thank you for everything, and Namaste – we bow to the divine in you.”
