Elcie Joseph Guillory, 89, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mallet, La., he was a trailblazer in Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish. He was one of the first black Calcasieu Parish Police Jurors. Mr. Guillory was elected to the Louisiana State House of Representatives in 1993, representing District 34. He served as Commissioner for the Port of Lake Charles Board. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Sharon Guillory of Houston, Texas, Juliet Guillory of Garland, Texas; and Cynthia Guillory of Lake Charles, La.; three grandchildren, Thaddeus Guillory of Houston, Texas, Danielle (Alfred) Guillory of Lake Charles, La., and Rachel Guillory of Garland, Texas, and six great-grandchildren; eight siblings, seven sisters, and one brother. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Bellard Guillory; his parents, Odessa and Alicia Guillory; two brothers, Leon and Jesse Guillory, and one sister, Rita Babineaux.
