Twenty-four citations were issued Saturday night during a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office-led seatbelt checkpoint at 1657 Swisco Road in Sulphur.

Deputies checked 455 vehicles and issued 13 seatbelt citations and six for improper or missing child restraints.

Two were also arrested for driving under suspension.

One driver was cited for having an expired license plate; one was cited for an expired inspection sticker; and one received a ticket for not having insurance.

Alstin J. Perkins, 29, of DeQuincy, was also arrested for possession of synthetic urine and an active warrant out of Orange County, Texas, for felony assault.
