Former McNeese Alumni Association associate director Stephanie Y. Clark has pled guilty to theft charges.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent previously told the American Press Clark admitted to detectives in September 2022 that she had made about $50,000 in unauthorized purchases. The detective’s investigation, however, revealed more than $200,000 in unauthorized transactions, including purchases to concerts and stores such as Poshmark, Apple, Nordic Track, Disney and numerous others. A financial audit also confirmed Clark stole more than $200,000 using a credit card issued by her former employer.

The McNeese Alumni Association — a separate, independent, 501(c)(3) organization — confirmed the investigation to the American Press. “It does not appear that state funds or McNeese State University funds have been misappropriated,” their statement to the newspaper said.
