A Lake Charles man was arrested Monday on a domestic abuse battery charge involving an alleged physical encounter with his mother at a residence in Welsh.

Steve Randall Soileau, 52, was arrested by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office on a charge of domestic abuse battery and two outstanding contempt of court warrants.

Soileau was arrested after sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Ardoin Cove Road, according Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.

When deputies arrived, Soileau was walking out a rear door of the residence, he said. Deputies asked him his name and what was going on and he be yelling in the direction of the complaint.

Deputies received information that a physical encounter had occurred between Soileau and his mother.
