Epps Memorial, Central libraries launch book clubs

Adults are invited to attend the Epps Memorial Library Book Club meeting, either in-person or online, to discuss the book, “Black Candle Women” by Diane Marie Brown.

The discussion will be held 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, and patrons can attend two different ways:

  • In-person participants will meet at the Epps Library, located at 1200 North Martin Luther King Highway, Suite 500, in Lake Charles.  Light refreshments will be served.
  • Those who would like to participate online, can do so on the Zoom video conferencing platform.  Attendees do not need to have a Zoom account to attend.  Please register in advance to receive the online link to the meeting.

The program is free and open to all patrons.

The Central Library Book Club is a monthly book discussion that is held on the third Wednesday of each month at the library, located at 301 W. Claude Street in Lake Charles.

Join the club 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20,  as they discuss the book, Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead.

This thrilling story about women and aviation has won several awards, including Time Magazine‘s Best Book of the Year, and Booker Prize Shortlist, to name a few.

The program is free and open to the public.  A library card is not needed to join in!
