Kevin Lee Vinson

Kevin Lee Vinson, 62, of Houston passed away suddenly on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 in his residence.
Kevin was born on February 16, 1961 in Thibodeaux, La. In his earlier years he lived in Louisiana, where he was a graduate of South Cameron High School, before adventuring to many different states until he settled in Houston, Texas the remainder of his life. Kevin was a process operator for Deer Park.
He will be remembered for pranking anyone who fell for them. Kevin was full of laughs and made a grand appearance when he walked in a room. He was adventurous, friendly, and mischievous. He was well regarded as a good friend, proud father, and all around genuinely a great man. In his spare time he enjoyed duck hunting, but he especially cherished the time he spent with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are a son, Matthew Vinson of Huntsville, Texas; his mother, Grace Vinson of Lake Charles; siblings, Raymond Vinson, Jr. of Welch, Becky Vinson Kershaw (Pnut) of Lake Charles, Troy Vinson (Cheryl) of Deridder, and Chasity Griffith of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Vinson, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will begin on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the start of the service.
