Carroll Louis Trahan

Carroll Louis Trahan, 81, of Sulphur, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. He was born in Orange, Texas on September 13, 1941 and lived most of his life in Johnson Bayou, where he resided until Hurricane Rita. Carroll was an active member of Central Baptist Church. In 2003, he retired from Chevron, as an operator with over 40 years of service. He was Constable in Johnson Bayou for 8 years, where he also served on the drainage and recreation boards. He loved hunting and fishing and was known as the BBQ and Fish Fry King. Most of all Carroll enjoyed spending time with his family.

Carroll is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Trahan; parents, Annie May and Theodore Trahan Sr.; his beloved granddaughter, Morgan Welch; and siblings, Nathan Trahan, Armond Trahan, Georgia McRight, and Leanna Broussard. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Belinda Simon and husband Jessie Jr. of Hackberry, Carla Hunsberger and husband Gary of DeQuincy, and Jenny Welch and husband John of Vinton; brother, Theodore Trahan Jr. of Lake Charles; sisters, Elaine Carter of Woodworth, Linda Vining of Hernando, Mississippi, and Faye Brier of Youngsville. Carroll also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alesha Broussard and husband, Jeff, Andrea Brown, Jill Trahan and husband Chance, Holly Fox and husband, Ben, Wesley Simon, and Colin Welch; nine great-grandchildren, Elijah Fox, Noah Fox, Jolie Fox, Karlee Williams and husband Colton, Tatum Moore, Steve Moore, Caleb Broussard, Waylon Broussard and Hattie Trahan; and one great-great grandson, Coy Williams.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Trahan will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in the funeral home. Visitation will resume Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
