The Town of Merryville has been put under mandatory evacuation as of 5 p.m Thursday.

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office said the Tiger Island wildfire could reach town limits within one or two hours. 

Buses are stationed at Merryville Town Hall for those who need transprtation out of town limits.

A shelter for Merryville residents is set up at First Methodist Church in DeRidder.
