Mildred Linscombe

Mildred Linscombe, 98, of Sulphur, passed away on what would be her 98th birthday on August 19, 2023, in a local hospital.  She was born in Church Point, La., on August 19, 1925, to Valdore and Leona Guidry.  Mildred was a 1943 graduate of Sulphur High School.  She enjoyed being with company and family.  Mildred enjoyed gambling, dominos and playing bourree’ with friends and family.  She attended Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic church where she did adoration many years.  Mildred owned the Red Barn Cafeteria in Sulphur.    

Mildred is survived by her son, Kenny Phipps and wife Linda; two grandsons, Dylan Phipps and wife, Kendra and Dr. Andrew Phipps; great grandchildren, Kynleigh, Kollins, Dawsyn and Hance Phipps; numerous nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Deanie and Dale O’Quain.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hance Linscombe; her parents; and one grandson, Jay Phipps.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church with Father John Welch, M.S. officiating.  Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time to leave for the church.
