Lynn Alden Vincent (84) passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side in DeRidder, La.
Born July 30th, 1939, to Curley and Helen Vincent in Grand Chenier, La, Lynn was raised on the ridge where his family were some of the first to settle, helping to establish communities in lower Cameron Parish. An avid cattleman, Lynn could be found with his father and sons herding cows in the marshes of Grand Chenier. After graduating high school in 1957, Lynn attended barber school in Beaumont, Texas. Upon completing this course, he worked as a barber in Cameron Parish. For many years Lynn worked offshore and in the oilfield before retiring from National Oilwell in 2009. Lynn has been a long-standing member of the Louisiana Cattleman’s Association and JP Boudoin Knights of Colombus. When Lynn wasn’t working, he was oftentimes traveling with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He believed that spending time as a family was important and strove to create memories and stories that could be passed down for generations. Lynn’s pride and joy were his family. Though his heart would always remain in Grand Chenier, in 2005 after Hurricane Rita, Lynn moved to Deridder, La. on the land he worked with his father for many years. Lynn and Sharon have enjoyed a weekly rosary and lunch with fellow parishioners and being entertained by their great grandchildren. Lynn loved to laugh, recollect old stories and memories and was always making sure everyone had something to eat. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, riding to look at his cows, and watching westerns on tv. Lynn was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Lynn is survived by his wife Sharon (Doise) Vincent and sister Olga (Robert) Mudd, Denton (Toni) Vincent, Belinda (Cliff) Harris, Jennifer Vincent, Kelly (Melissa) Vincent, David (Ramona) Doise, Theresa (JB) Thibodeaux, Sharla (Glenden) Marceaux, Ron Doise (Brian), Haylee, Madison (Evan), Matthew, Kerrigan, Emily, Kellen, Lana, Logan, Lance, Saige, Hunter, Lexi, Madilyn, Myles, Piper, Palmer, Maryann, Wyatt, Stella, Barrett, Beau, Alice, Cash, Tuff, Saylor, Cooper, Carter, Sloane, Maysen, and Major.
