Doris “Jean” Chisholm, 91 years old, passed away peacefully, Sunday August 13, 2023. God will be waiting in heaven with open arms to welcome his child home. She will rejoice with her family who have preceded her in death.

Jean was born in Holloway, La. on November 28, 1931. She lived in Westlake, La. for more than 60 years. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren very much. Jean was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Westlake for 56 years. She retired from Fashion and Mary Williams Company after 39 years. It was her pleasure to help the lovely ladies with their wardrobe with a beautiful smile on her face. She made many good friends over the years. She loved her yard and always made it look beautiful.
Jean was a member of the Senior Center of Westlake and Autumn Leaves. She enjoyed Bingo on Monday and Thursday and Autumn Leaves on Tuesday. She made a lot of friends who she dearly missed when she moved in with her daughter.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband: “Barney” Chisholm; mother: Eloise Carter and father: “Pinky” LaPrarie, sister: Helen Monson, brother: L. J. La Prairie, and brother: Adrian La Prarie.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Patsy Donaldson and husband Gary of Godley, Texas; son: Rodney Benson and wife Sandra of Westlake, La.; five grandchildren: Shirley Cosby and husband John, Stephanie Colvard and husband Kevin, Melissa Bryant and husband Paul, Amy Riley and husband Robert, Lisa Fontenot and husband Ryan; twelve great grandchildren: Megan Hawkins, Morgan Tingley, Tyler Colvard, Brandon Colvard, Cody Colvard, Michael Benson, Brittany White, Alexis Riley, Kadie Jo Riley, Morgan Bryant, Devin Bryant, and Drew Fontenot; twleve great great grandchildren: Acey, Bella, Ryatt, Winter, Melody, Alice, Jonathan, Matthew, Hunter, Holder, Eli, and Tucker.
Jean will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
