David Louis
Kineman Sr.

Published 5:30 am Friday, August 11, 2023

David Louis Kineman Sr. was one of two children born to Owen S. and Mildred F. Kineman. He was born Nov. 19, 1955 in Paducah, Ky.

After graduating High School, then began attending Eastern Illinois College, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

It was by chance he and Tammy would meet while at a skating party. From their first meeting Tammy knew he was the one, so sure in fact, their first date was to meet her mother and father. She was attracted by his debonair looks, boisterous nature, but she fell in love with him over his relationship with his Lord and Savior. They exchanged vows on June, 12, 1981.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” Philippians 1:21

David lived by the word of his Lord first, and the love of his family second. There was nothing that enriched his life more. After accepting a position as an operator with Exxon, they eventually moved to Louisiana, upon settling in, he set out to find a place of worship. They began attending Enterprise Blvd Church of Christ. He was a humble man but was proud of the family he found within the church and the example they set for one another and served as their song leader. He also enjoyed Thursday  and Friday breakfast gatherings with the church group. He was employed with Exxon Mobile for 33 years, until his retirement. Although he was serious, his superior thought it was a joke, as his last day was April Fool’s Day in 2010.

As a father, he was the pilar of the family; strong, steadfast, and giving. He worked hard to provide for them, yet his role as a father never waned. He was ever present in their lives and activities. Together they shared many memories rooting for his beloved Chicago Bears and/or the New Orleans Saints on the Bears “off” seasons or watching the Chicago Cubs when they played the Houston Astro’s. He also enjoyed golf, although he only beat David Jr. on his first trip to the course. They often laughed and waved when they passed the tree that bore the imprint of his shoes when he single handedly saved the golf cart from Debbie’s driving.

He welcomed his grandchildren with open arms, embracing “Paw Paw” status wholeheartedly. Whether playing the puppy dog game, cards, or board games, there was never a want to be had for them. Seeing the smiles on their faces was the best gift his family could give him.

He was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023 by his parents, Owen S. and Mildred F. Kineman; his brother Jack Kineman.

Those left to cherish his memory; his beloved wife of 42 years, Tammy A. Kineman; one daughter, Deborah Ann Brougham and husband Branndon; one son, David L. Kineman Jr. and partner Sarah McKee; grandchildren, Camryn J. Brooklyn G. and Fallon K.; a daughter in-love, Dawn Kineman-Wiginton.
