UPDATE: CPSO still searching for missing man

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office still is searching for Charles McAlister, Jr., 71.

McAlister was reported missing almost one week ago, on Saturday, August 5. Days later, the Louisiana State Police issued a Silver Alert on behalf of CPSO.

CPSO was informed that McAlister had last been seen at his residence on Chenier Drive in Lake Charles on August 3, and that he had left without his wallet, phones, glasses and medication for his heart condition.

Further investigation found that when he left his house, he was wearing a white cap, a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white New Balance tennis shoes.

McAlister is a white male with gray hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5’10” and weighs 155 lbs, and is missing a part of the middle finger on his right hand. 

He suffers from a medical condition that may impair his memory and judgment.

Officers learned during initial investigations that McAlister’s truck – a white 2011 Toyota Tundra – was seen in Cameron Parish on Thursday, August 3. On August 4, that the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office had located the truck in the early morning hours at Rutherford Beach.

The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office is assisting CPSO in the investigation.
