Margarita Bingo returns: Fundraiser benefits Southwest Louisiana Youth Foundation

Margarita Bingo is back.
This year, the party takes place on Saturday, August 12 at the Cash and Carry Building, 801 Enterprise Blvd.
The doors open at 6:30 for cocktail hour (keep an eye out for unlimited margaritas) and the fajita bar.
After a fast-paced game of bingo, local cover band The Tugboats will take the stage at 7:30.
This fundraiser benefiting the Southwest Louisiana Youth Foundation was first organized in 2017 as “an opportunity for our community to help the Southwest Louisiana Youth Foundation continue to provide educational programs to our local high school youth at no cost to the school or participants,” said Laura Perry, executive director of the SWLA Youth Foundation.
Unfiltered Facts is one of these opportunities that Margarita Bingo will benefit. The programming takes place in six-sessions and is “designed to provide youth with knowledge that promotes healthy life decisions and interaction with others.”
The curriculum is comprehensive, and includes topics such as “decision making, boundaries and values, social media safety, dating and relationship abuse, conflict resolution, mental health, human trafficking and online solicitation, the teenage brain and addiction and Louisiana law as it relates to consent and sexual abuse,” she said.
“The curriculum emboldens youth with this knowledge while also endowing them with the life and social skills necessary to succeed and prevent the engagement in adverse behaviors.”
The Foundation has already met its funding goal, but it “can make room for a couple more,” she said.
There are two public ticket opportunities. Fiesta de Dos secures the space for a “party of two” for $250. Mesa de Fiesta, “party table” seats ten for $1000.
For both public ticket opportunities, each guest gets one bingo ticket and unlimited access to food and margaritas.
For corporate sponsors, there are three options.
The Jalapeno Sponsorship, $1500, seats 8 guests, each receiving one bingo card. The company will receive a social media shoutout, recognition in the event program and slideshow and the company name displayed on the table during the event.
One tier up, the Habanero Sponsorship seats ten for $2500. Each guest receives 2 bingo cards and a swag bag, and the company receives recognition on the Foundation’s social media and at the event.
The highest tier sponsorship opportunity is the Presenting Sponsorship. This includes one table for 10 with premier seating and a dedicated waitstaff. Each guest gets three bingo tickets and a swag bag. With this tier, the company’s name, logo and web link will be featured on the Foundation’s social media and their company banner will be displayed, alongside other shoutouts.
