The city of Lake Charles Partners in Parks Initiative is teaming up with numerous community partners for a Youth First Responders Day 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 12, at Hillcrest Park, 2808 Hillcrest Dr.

This indoor/outdoor event is presented by State Farm and will feature interactive activities and static displays from the Lake Charles Fire Department, Lake Charles Police Department, Children’s Museum, Acadian Ambulance and Destination Zero Deaths.

Activities will focus on fire and other safety-related matters and will feature a youth obstacle course and demonstrations from K-9 Rook, LCFD’s Arson Dog.

A special presentation, commemorating State Farm’s partnership in the Port Wonder project, is set to take place as well.

Additional partners in this event include Herc Rentals and Lake Charles Coca-Cola.
