Jarvis DeVere Williamson, 71, of Lake Charles, La., died Monday, July 31, 2023 at his residence.  Jarvis was born on September 25, 1951 in DeRidder, La. to J.B.  and Betty Williamson.  He spent his childhood years in DeRidder and moved to Lake Charles when he was a teenager.  

He served his country as a member of the National Guard.  

In his early career he worked in the banking business and his knack for fixing things led him to opening Computer Basics and Electronics in 1984 where he helped many in the community from all walks of life.  Always ready for an adventure, Jarvis enjoyed the outdoors and taking road trips with his children which were memorialized with the latest gadgets to capture the moments.  Anyone who ever ran into Jarvis always walked away with an interesting story or having learned something new.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters; Laura Williamson Vanchiere and her husband Paul of Cypress, Texas.; Hannah LeJeune Arrant and her husband Zack of Lake Charles, brother;  Elwin Williamson and wife Lindy Williamson of Marion, Massachusetts, Grandchildren; Anna Beth Vanchiere, Camille Vanchiere, Ellie Vanchiere, and James Elizabeth Arrant. 

He was preceded in death by his father; J.B. Williamson; step mother, Elizabeth Cryar Williamson, Mother; Betty Buell Williamson, Son; Brent Williamson, and Brother; Terry Williamson.

A time of gathering for family and friends will be from 1p.m. – 3p.m., Friday, August 4, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, La. 70605.  Graveside services will be 3:30p.m., Friday, August 4, 2023 at Consolata Cemetery.
