Barbara Ann Tramonte

Barbara Ann (O’Quinn) Tramonte, 86, of Sulphur, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 surrounded by her children. She was born to her late parents, Addie and Hazel O’Quinn on October 10, 1936 in Sulphur, La. 

She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. She worked for many years as a hairdresser where she was self employed. Barbara was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. She was a member of Krewe of Cosmos, where she and her husband were King and Queen. Barbara was a former member of the Lioness Club, where she was past President. She loved her Dynamic Dimensions family and her Wednesday coffee group. Barbara loved cooking for family and friends, and attending various functions for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Survivors include her children, Sandy (Karlen) Short of Scott, Paul Tramonte of Sulphur, Chris (Rick) Godare of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Brannon (Bianca) Short, Richard (Kati) Godare, Michael (Erica) Tramonte, Ryan (Kimberly) Godare, Megan Tramonte and Morgan Tramonte; great-grandchildren, Gauge Short, Domonique Short, Brandon Short, Brendon Short, Stella Godare, Stoney Godare, Stockton Godare, Amelia Godare, Brylie Tramonte, Taylee Tramonte, Rylan Coker, and one on the way, Brinley Deason.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vito Anthony Tramonte; her parents; and a sister, Marilyn LeBato.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, with Father Joshua Page officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, from 8 a.m. until the procession to the church.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Brannon, Richard, Michael, Ryan, Megan and Morgan.
