“Thanks to the partnership with our Southwest Louisiana Delegation, our efforts resulted in over $102,369,938 delivered this year alone. We secured $800 million to put toward a new Calcasieu River bridge, and we’re nowhere near close to finished yet,” Stine said.

This past legislative session, Senator Stine successfully passed legislation focused on simplifying burdensome tax requirements, enabling health insurance coverage for genetic testing, implementing laws to protect our children from digital predators, and allowing for increased transparency and approval for healthcare provider services.

Below is a list of instruments authored by Senator Stine that became law in Louisiana:

  • SB 61 (ACT 239) (Stine) Creates an individual income tax checkoff for donations for Holden’s Hope.

  • SB 89 (ACT 242) (Stine) Provides relative to the net capital gains deduction for individual income tax.

  • SB 104 (ACT 342) (Stine) Provides for health insurance coverage of genetic testing for diseases and other medical conditions.

  • SB 175 (ACT 457) (Stine) Criminalizes deepfakes involving minors and defines the rights to digital image and likeness.

  • SB 188 (ACT 333) (Stine) Provides for utilization review and approval procedures of claims for healthcare provider services.

In addition to Senator Stine’s legislation, he also supported and co-sponsored several legislative measures that work to:

  • Create safer communities and crack down on violent criminals and drug dealers

  • Expand choice and improve outcomes in education by supporting teacher pay raises

  • Create a more competitive tax system to attract businesses and residents to Louisiana

  • Grow oil and gas jobs and promote American Energy Independence

  • Improve access to affordable, reliable insurance

  • Develop a more robust and talented workforce

  • Promote Pro-Life, Pro-Family, and Pro-Child Legislation
