Marshland Fest: Air-conditioned weekend experience featuring plenty of food, shopping, good music

The 2023 Marshland Festival returns July 28 and 29 at the Lake Charles Civic Center, which guarantees an inside and air-conditioned experience. Admission is $15 on Friday and $20 on Saturday.

The Marshland Festival originated in Hackberry over 30 years ago at the community center and, over the years, has become a huge festival known for supporting local Southwest Louisiana artists sprinkled with traveling national names.

In addition, there are numerous delicious food booths and arts and crafts shopping to take advantage of. Check out the incredible 2023 lineup and plan to make a weekend at the Festival.

On Friday, July 28, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., see Greg Blanchard. At 7:30 – 9 p.m., Parish County Line; 9 – 10:30 p.m., Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition; 10:30 p.m. – midnight, Jo-El Sonnier.

On Saturday, July 29, the fun kicks off at 11 a.m. – noon with Brooks Drost. See Colby Latiolais at noon; 1 – 2:30 p.m., Johnny Jimenez Band; 2:30 – 4 p.m., Caden Gillard, 4- 5:30 p.m., Louisiana Express with Johnnie Allan; 5:30 – 7 p.m., Thomas Cain; 7- 8:30 p.m. Steel Shot; 8:30- 10 p.m. Waters Edge; 10 – 11 p.m., Gene Watson; and 11 p.m. to midnight Jamie Bergeron. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
