A free website that networks Louisiana musicians was launched in January by David Trahan. Neworleansmusicians.com gives artists a “business” page, listing with examples of work.

Trahan said membership is up to around 120 at this time, and he is still interested in keeping it free.

Trahan said being a member means more than being part of a network. Marketing starts with a mention. He also operates a podcast, a blog, and a Youtube channel, interviewing Louisiana musicians and music businesses in the industry.

Registered musicians are part of a pool used to select future guests.

“What can we do that Facebook, Reverberation or any other websites with bands on it can’t do? We publish regularly on all podcast platforms, such as Apple, Google and Spotify,” he said. When you register on the site, you automatically get dibs on a slot on the show.”
